Interview
As I walked into the prestigious Sheraton Grand Palace hotel
in Indore, India, in November 2020, I couldn't help but felt excited. I was about to be
interviewed for an intern position, a coveted opportunity to gain valuable
experience in the hospitality industry and also it was part of my undergraduate
syllabus. The interview was conducted by the training manager Mr. Amit Negi,
who exuded an air of professionalism and expertise.

Reflecting on the experience, I realized that preparation played a crucial role in my success. I had researched the hotel like number of rooms, names of the restaurants and cuisine served, names of the heads of the department, familiarized myself with its values and mission, and practiced potential interview questions. This preparation allowed me to answer questions confidently and showcase my knowledge and enthusiasm for the hotel and the industry and the Training manager were really impressed by my answers and the way I delivered them
The interview experience taught me the importance of showcasing my strengths and unique qualities while remaining humble and attentive to the needs of the employer. It also highlighted the significance of effective communication and the ability to articulate my passion and commitment clearly along with a fearless yet confident attitude ( O’Rourke, 2019).
Overall, the interview process at Sheraton Grand Palace was
a significant milestone in my professional journey. It affirmed my passion for
the hospitality industry and provided me with a valuable opportunity to
showcase my skills and potential. I am excited to embark on this internship and
contribute to the success of Sheraton Grand Palace while gaining invaluable
experience and learning opportunities and at the end of my tenure of my
internship I was the only intern who got job offer letter from 2 departments
one was Human Resource and another was front office.
This letter was given to me by my Human Resource Manager.
