Teamwork

Caroline our PSD tutor assigned myself and three other members of the group to build an origami giraffe using tape, paper, and scissors during the collaboration activity. We were given a time restriction in which to finish the project. We had 45 minutes to finish the work, so we opted to make a tall giraffe rather than a little one. Me and Anna divided the tasks, and I was in charge of building the giraffe's head. Ryadh was constructing the giraffe's torso with the assistance of Olivia, while Anna was constructing the giraffe's legs.

We all had various ideas about how it should appear, but then we decided to just go with the flow and keep to the goal that we had set ourselves, and in the end, we created one of the best-looking giraffes in our opinion. Everyone contributed to this cooperation, and we all had various ideas that did not overlap.

What I appreciated about the collaborative effort was that everyone contributed ideas and worked together to determine how everything should appear. I didn't find anything particularly difficult because we were all working in teams with excellent communication, and everyone was eager to assist. Olivia, for example, was having difficulty constructing the giraffe's tail so I assist her. In comparison, if I were working alone, I would never have a giraffe look this lovely and l won’t have a lot of ideas. Good results are obtained while working in group (Caruso & Woolley, 2008). I believe I am excellent at performing, and I believe I could be more imaginative while performing, but I believe I did a nice job however I do recognize that I naturally gravitate towards taking task that involves organizing  and coordinating the group effects, I think I could be more creative, but I think I did a great job.

There is, however, always opportunity for development. Improving ways to communicate, promoting equitable involvement, and ensuring that each contributor's opinion is heard might help our collaborative efforts even more. Finally, this teamwork activity taught me about interpersonal relationships and my responsibility as a team member. I appreciate collaborative work because of its creative potential and capacity to draw on many views. While there are limitations, the benefit received through collaborative effort outweighs them. I have organisational skills, but I want to improve my creative thinking. The team worked effectively together and I’m very happy that we all made an origami Giraffe in such a short span of time.
